With over 20 years of experience battling the perilous, icy water of the Bering Sea, Russell Newberry is no stranger to the frigid conditions and unforeseen risks of the Alaskan King crab fishing season— considered even more dangerous than the already extremely hazardous average commercial fishing job. He’s weathered treacherous storms and freezing temperatures, suffered body-crushing work conditions, and volatile crew conflict, all in search of a treasured bounty of Alaska King crabs.

Meet Duma,

Duma, the world-famous wakeboarding dog is cruising into town—life-vest, goggles and all! The beloved seven-year-old Jack Russell Terrier will be making waves and wowing audiences of all ages with her incredible stunts and stellar sailing technique.

Duma first found her sea legs while cruising down the Chicago River in the lap of her owner, Cliff Bode, who thought it would be fun to place her front paws up on the steering wheel. To his amazement—and the amusement of onlookers snapping photos from the shore—she liked being up there.

Ever since, Duma has become quite the skilled skipper! Outfitted in her life jacket and goggles, she uses her front paws to steadily steer the boat and has even transformed her passion for sailing into a mastery of wakeboarding! Don’t miss Duma’s Boat Show debut, where she’ll show off her amazing balance while on her custom wakeboard before meeting with fans for photos and more.
